When do you do your best work?

I had the opportunity to visit with the Anonymous Artist recently and we invariably discuss all manner of things art, work, leisure and love. However it was a conversation I've been mulling now for several months I wish to speak to, and that is...

When do you do your best work?

When you're in a rush?
When you've had time to plan it out?
Under pressure?
In fits and Starts?
At night?

I am most certain no matter the time involved, no matter the lack of planning or whim involved, that the Anonymous Artist does their best work... with a brush in their hand, and a drink in the other!

And... The results are stunning!

The Paintings Keep Growing

When Last I visited the Anonymous Artist at his Studio, I was thrilled to see the new pieces he'd been working on.

There was a hint of a new style and even a number of pieces painted on location in a second newfound studio where he's begun to spend some time. The interlude pieces.

One such that has taken my fancy is one thats painted with a subject of a face, but the face is such that its different from the other characterized faces such as the one I use as my picture.

I look forward to bringing these pieces to the gallery!

Anonymous Acts...

The act of doing something Anonymously bears its own meaning. It can be done to remove bias from the evaluation of the subject matter.

While at the same time it could say something about the actor.

It could be like calling up the girl next door and breathing into the receiver, or like anonymously donating 10 dollars to charity.

But by doing it Anonymously, its also like wearing a costume. It removes constrictions and expectations from the self, and frees you to create something unexpected.

Its saying to you "I would have you Evaluate this thing on 'its' own merit, not because 'I' did it"

Unless, of course, you don't want to get caught doing it.

Whats an Artist to do?

Artists Make Art.
Painters Paint.

But Heck, whats an Agent to do?

I was so excited when the Anonymous Artist showied me his work, that much to my surprise when I entered into this deal to be hs Agent, little did I know that I would be Selling.

This leaves all kinds of questions begging for answers. Answers for which there is precious little on-line to learn about, unless you're willing to part with a few extra dollars, of course.

So.

I will do it the hard way.
I will match honest work with honest sweat.
I shall represent my favorite client, with ferocity, and honor, and dignity.

And To wit I shall pull my inspiration from from a piece from the Chaos Collection:

The Anonymous Artist.

Names are interesting. They convey identity. Identity leads to knowledge. An interesting notion. One so inimically entwined with the human psyche it is impossible to disemble the act.
Naming is knowing, but this knowing of a thing leads to judgment.

Why is this important to the Anonymous Artist?

The Anonymous Artist seeks not to know, but to experience. To wallow in the moment between knowing and judging and then disavow both ends embracing that solitary Anonymous Moment between. That period of intense joy at the time of experience before it passes and the moment of abrupt loss when it does.

So, I, in this moment, declare that I can consciously un-judge a thing by not naming it. I leave it for someone else to Judge or Un-Judge. Name it what you will. Declare its beauty in your eyes, and judge it well. For I shall stand aside and instead hang it in the boundless walls of perpetuity with all the splendor of that tortured yet treasured moment.

And now, in the vain of the Anonymous Artist for whom I represent and launch this blog as a testament to his Un-Named work, name them yourselves. Name them well, and find in them an experience the Anonymous Artist too has found.
